Anglelock is a professional wrestling submission hold popularized by professional wrestler Kurt Angle. It is also known as the Ankle Lock or the Ankle Lock with Body Scissors. The Anglelock primarily targets the opponent's ankle joint, aiming to put pressure on it and cause pain.To perform the Anglelock, the wrestler typically starts by grabbing the opponent's leg, usually the one closest to them, and lifts it off the ground. The wrestler then wraps their own leg around the back of the opponent's leg, creating a body scissors position. With the opponent's leg secured, the wrestler locks their hands around the opponent's foot, placing the ankle in a vulnerable position.Once the Anglelock is applied, the wrestler exerts pressure on the ankle by leveraging their body weight and torquing the foot and ankle joint. This can cause intense pain and discomfort, potentially leading to the opponent submitting or forcing them to tap out.The Anglelock is a highly effective submission hold and has been used by many professional wrestlers over the years. Kurt Angle, for whom the hold is named, was particularly known for his skill in applying and executing the Anglelock during his career in various wrestling promotions.
